Membership is open to all world language teachers and administrators
in Hawai'i. Language students may also participate as non-voting
members within the organization. Members are invited to participate
in the Fall Symposium at no charge, and to the Spring Conference
at a discounted charge. Members receive notice of events via e-mail.
Annual dues are collected for each calendar year (January-December)*
and are $15.00 ($5 for students and teaching assistants). Lifetime
membership is also available for $100.
To join HALT, please download or open the Membership Form in your
browser, click on the first blank to start, from there press the
Tab button to go to the next
field, print out and mail with your check when finished.
Renew your membership by providing us with any changed or additional
information on the same form, indicate that it is a renewal, and
then mail with your check. Membership renewal reminders will be
sent in the fall for the upcoming year's membership, where applicable,
and members can renew when convenient for them.

* The HALT Executive Board has decided to clarify policy and make
the calendar year (January-December) the official term for annual
membership. Membership renewal reminders will be sent in the fall
for the upcoming year's membership, where applicable, and members
can renew when convenient for them.
For example, for 2011 HALT annual membership (January-December),
members can renew early (at the Fall Symposium, a free event) or
later (at the spring conference). Alternatively, they can also send
their membership renewals via mail in the interim. Either way, it
will count for annual membership for the whole of 2011.
