HALT 2021 Virtual Hoʻomoana

CCLT Summer Summit

1:00–4:00pm

Presented Virtually via ZOOM & Wonder Room

Thank you for attending this year’s Virtual Summer Summit! Please access the RESOURCE DOCUMENT to find links to the video recordings, presentations, and other resources. We hope you enjoyed the conference!

Hoʻomoana, in Hawaiian, invokes the imagery of relaxing by the ocean in a camping  atmosphere.  In a hoʻomoana style gathering, the HALT Summer Summit 2021 calls on World Language educators to gather together for a common purpose to share, learn from one another, and grow in mind and spirit. The focus of this hoʻomoana is  Comprehension-based Communicative Language Teaching (CCLT).  If you have never heard of CCLT or need a refresher, please watch our 2020 introductory video.  We invite you to join the hoʻomoana featuring Local Talent sharing knowledge and expertise in a casual setting with ample opportunities for networking, asking questions, and sharing your ideas!

This three-day hoʻomoana will include:

  • Local teachers sharing comprehension-based strategies & resources for multiple languages at varying proficiency levels
  • Experience in being a beginning language learner
  • Opportunities for coaching with feedback
  • Talk story w/ local teachers (a.k.a. “unconference”)
